Sharing our favorites here along with places strongly recommended by the Sagamore Pendry events lead, Kat! This page starts with a few cafes, then moves to restaurants, and ends with bars and pubs.
Unless otherwise specified, everything is within a 15-minute walk of the Sagamore Pendry Hotel!
Cafe: A local favorite inspired by classic Italian bakeries and sandwich shops. Right on the waterfront next to the Sagamore Pendry Hotel. Dog friendly! The Pitango Gelato shop is right around the corner, too.
Cafe: A French-inspired, trendy “pastry studio.” Try the iced oat milk matcha latte and ham & swiss croissant!
Restaurant: Award-winning seafood restaurant with an upstairs water view dining area, main bar, and courtyard in the back. Calls itself a Chesapeake-meets-New England eatery. Most of the seafood is sourced from local fishermen and purveyors. Reservations strongly suggested.
Food Hall: Historic food hall home to Vikki’s Deli (Classic diner fair), Sophie’s Place European Deli (Polish), Sal & Son’s Seafood, Everest Spice Bar & Grill (Indian and Nepalese), Old Boy (Korean), Taharka Brothers Ice Cream, Connie’s Chicken and Waffles, Thai Street, and Last Slyce (Pizza). It is one of the oldest existing markets in Baltimore and dates back to 1786.
Restaurant/Bar: Mexican restaurant with views of the harbor. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Great for brunch or dinner.
Restaurant: Modern French brasserie. Fun and chic with locally and seasonally sourced ingredients. Voted Baltimore’s best French restaurant for 2024 by Baltimore Magazine. The french onion soup, duck fat fries, and burger topped with blueberry jam, gruyere, and foie gras are to die for.
Restaurant: Waterfront restaurant inspired by Southern food. Located in the Canopy by Hilton Hotel, the restaurant has a wrap-around bar and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
Restaurant: Fun, casual Mexican street food with a wide menu of margs! Flavors include mango, guava, passion fruit, coconut, watermelon, peach, strawberry, pricky pear, raspberry, pineapple chile, and jalapeño. For a sweeter marg, try the Tropic Thunder-rita with pineapple jalapeño tequila, pineapple rum and sour mix with a sugar rim.
Restaurant: Former dive bar turned farm-to-table restaurant with craft cocktails and eclectic decor. Described as a blend of no fuss and plenty of frills: “Somehow both gritty and quietly cosmopolitan, eccentric yet accessible…could combine a sidecar-ed martini served on a silver platter with a stereo cranking out The Clash. Or a just-right New York strip steak with a giant taxidermied marlin above the bar. Or Prince Edward Island oysters (with a “bump” of caviar, no less) and the best Texas toast-style garlic bread you’ve ever had. Hand-written menus mingle with antique oil paintings and the oohs and aahs of both longtime loyal patrons and wide-eyed come-latelys.”
Restaurant: Midwestern tavern fair with pizza, pierogis, schnitzel, roasted meats, and seafood. Named one of the 50 best U.S. restaurants by New York Times in 2023. It's a little farther out on the edge of Fells Point.
Restaurant: A cozy, upscale steakhouse for date night.
Pub: Old-school watering hole with pub fare & live music nightly. The Horse was the last destination of the great American writer Edgar Allan Poe before his mysterious death. In addition to being Baltimore's oldest saloon (established in 1775), it is the only bar in Maryland to exist before, during and after prohibition. It operates as America's oldest continually operated saloon. Aptly next to “The Horse You Rode Out On” Cantina.
Bar: Fantastic live music on the second floor. Large bar by the stage that seats 40+ people. The building was initially built in 1771 and was converted into a hotel in 1861 to house Civil War troops. Directly across from the Sagamore Pendry Hotel.
Pub: Elevated tavern menu and comfort food with locally sourced ingredients. Popular to swing by, tell the bartender your spirit of choice and they will build you a cocktail around your preferred flavor profile.
Bar: Energetic, 3-story saloon with bar food, craft brews & live music in a classic pub setting. Almost always poppin' when we've walked by in the evenings.
Bar: Cozy bar for a beer and a burger. Also supposed to have nice brunch. Directly across from the Sagamore Pendry Hotel!
